Yis I have heard of them and have all their albums. Their new album So Jealous has just been released in Australia. Their previous album If It Was You is also in music stores and it's by far their best in my opinion. Songs like Living Room, City Girl, Not Tonight, Monday Monday Monday and Don't Confess are just brilliiaaant. Also just cuz you've heard one of their songs or even one of their albums doesn't mean you won't like any of their stuff. They have a very very wide range.

I suggest people start with Monday, Monday, Monday if looking to have a quick listen as I have a few rock and terrible rnb only friends that always want me to play this in my car. Frozen, My Number, Speak Slow and Superstar a few other names to throw around.

Their previous album If It Was You is also in music stores and it's by far their best in my opinion. .

If It Was You was the first tegan and sara album i got. and the one that made me fall in love with them. its my favourite album in that respect, but i wouldnt say its their best. This Bussiness Of Art is fkn awesome! as is Under Feet Like Ours. but id definatley have to say that This Business is their best.

We wanted to say a happy spring hello and include some news about the
upcoming months. We have been relaxing the past few weeks getting ready for
our upcoming tours in Europe and the US.

We have a tonne of new dates on the website, including Europe and the UK in
June, as well as a US tour starting in July. The dates are all listed at the
end of this email.

We also are offering pre sales on some of these shows so be sure to check
the listings on the date nearest you. Some of these shows will sell quickly
so be sure to get your ticket in advance.

We have released 5 live songs to iTunes from our recent LIVE AT THE PHOENIX
DVD concert in Toronto. The songs are only available to US residents at this
time BUT we will post as soon as this changes. We are working on it.

The DVD LIVE AT THE PHOENIX is going to be released sometime in the fall. We
will let you know about that too.

New merchandise and journal entries, as well as pictures and bios are up at

I'd never heard of them until this thread, but i was flipping through an old magazine from September 2003 (a no-name mag called "Chik" that my mum bought me a few years back when i was sick) and it has an article on them. i'll type it up and post the pic of the article:

Although their sounds are just beginning to reach our shores, 22 year old Canadian twins Tegan and Sara Quin have been around for a while. At 17, they won a battle of the bands competition in their home town of Alberta, Calgary and shoon after got signed to Neil Young's label, Vapour Records. They've built their fan base from the ground up, touring extensively and driving thousands of miles in a mini-van to bring their music to the people.

Like any siblings trapped in a car together for any length of time they have a love/hate relationship, and their onstage squabbling has become as much a part of their gigs as the music. "We talk almost as much as we sing," explains Sara. "When we first started out we only had five songs and were playing 45 minute sets so we had to chat to fill the gaps. Now our audiences expect us to talk. We think we're really funny comedians...even if they don't."

There's no shortage of songs these days. Their album "If It Was You" provides plenty of material. Tegan and Sara share singing and songwriting duties, and although they are identical twins they have very different voices that harmonise beautifully. And yes, they play their own instruments too - these girls are damn good with a guitar. It's angsty, acoustic punk-pop with a faint folky flavour - it's the kind of music you want to sing along with at the top of your lungs and strum your air guitar to. I ask Sara if she ever indulges in such behaviour and cranks her own album. "No, definitely not," she says. "It's not like I'd be embarrassed, it's just I sing those songs every day on tour. We have demos and other things we've been recording and I listen to them all the time. But not the album, that would be overkill."

Read the lyrics and you'll see that a lot of Tegan and Sara's songs deal with the darker side of life. Fear, anger, guilt, rejection - and music is their way of working through it. "Sometimes I feel like I'm not so much working through them as just indulging them," admits Sara. "But certainly it is some sort of release or distraction to keep your mind off things when you're down. It certainly helps you look at yourself."

For such an original act, Tegan and Sara have to live with a lot of comparisons. They have been likened to Ani de Franco because they're angsty, Avril Lavigne because they're Canadian and t.A.T.u because they're gay. Both sisters are lesbians, but you wont find them using their sexuality to market their music. In fact, they keep it fairly low-key because they dont want being gay to define or limit their image or their sound. "There's some pretty distinct differences," Sara points out. "a) We dont make out with each other, b) we write our own songs, c) we dont have a really expensive record deal, d) we dont make out with each other."

Probably the biggest difference is that the Quin twins want to sell their album on musical merit alone. Fame is not on their wish list, in fact Sara is repulsed by the idea. "Ewww, no. Success for me is if I can pay my rent. If I can pay my rent and put money in my savings account I feel like I'm doing pretty hot." Whether they like it or not, these girls probably are going to be famous, but they can rest easy in the knowledge that it wont be marketing or their image or the hype that got them there - it will be talent.

But there's one more comparison to be made. Are Tegan and Sara ever going to do the Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen thing and bring out their own range of clothes? "Yeeeeeeh, no," says Sara. "We do have Tegan and Sara merchandise but we stick to T-shirts, hoodies and hats. I dont think there'll be a Tegan and Sara adventure colouring book aor anything else like that."

I love T&S, I saw them in August too when they were here, their headline gig at the Annandale. they were a cack on stage :p cept they were having a bit of a bad nite, drunk f**kwits in the crowd and then someone stole Tegans capo and wouldnt give it back and she couldnt play... so they kinda spat it a lil bit, :mad: they still rocked tho! very hot. I took one pic of Sara and then my battery ran out in my camera :mad: I'll find it and post it, I know everyone here is in lurve with Tegan but Sara is pretty hot too :) :D

I'm have two spare copies of their first album (under feet like ours) you can only buy it from gigs as they're not in production any more (i bought them from their mum at the adelaide gig a couple of months ago haha). I ended this speed problem on my site by imposing a 60x60 limit. Clear limit = quicker speed = happiness all round
