Here is my review for this gig.. anyone else that would like to add their review, photos etc, please feel free..
Well... an early head off on our way down to Byron Bay. I managed to get off work early, so at least we didnt hit too much traffic! Peewee and I headed out on our trek!
We arrived about 7pm and then decided to check out the scene... (Ok, fine.. I was busting to the toilets and we couldnt find any) hahaha..
We checked out the venue! I was very surprised to see how small the venue was.. but I soon realised why when we took a little walk around Byron.
There were buskers every few metres.. some alot better than the others! I dont think you need to have a licence to busk there, cos nobody had one. Or maybe its just that there are no police there! I didnt see any... did anyone else?
What I found funny was the fact that after the sound check, it was dinner time and Missy decided to have dinner at a backpackers place.. There were plenty of places, but ended up walking half a mile up the road to eat at the backpackers!
Anyway... back to the review.... People started lining up.. (or should I say 'gathering'.
Missy came on and there was a hug roar from the crowd. I must say that I was VERY DISSAPOINTED with the audience that was there that night! Constantly throughout the concert all you could hear was lots of people talking.. Considering it was a sold out concert, I was shocked to hear the talking amongst the people at the back each time Missy paused, sang quietly in a song or each time a new song began.
I must say that I really enjoyed the concert though, as even though cameras were eventually banned, I was in arms distance of touching Missy on the arm, so I think I had a great spot! (By the way... I didnt touch her on the arm... ahhaha).
Half way through the concert, Missy really began to start enjoying the concert and really included the audience members. With many smiles and giggles, she went on! In previous gigs, Missy was too nervous to look down at people, but this time she really got into it!
Although this concert was rather short, I really enjoyed it and would have to say that it was my favourite concert up till then. Its really great when the artist includes the audience in their performance!
As per usual, Special Two was being shouted from all angles of the venue.. but with Missy wanted to play it as her last song. Scar once again was a huge hit with the audience. The audience was encouraged to join in and clap and there was no hessitation with that! Once again, The Cactus that found the Beat, (that has nothing to do with a cactus) also was a bit hit with the crowd!
Yet another wonderful gig! Thanks guys!
Oh, and I forgot to let you all know, I will be putting up a section on this forum called 'Meeting Missy'. Please feel free to post any pictures of yourself with Missy or the band and/or tell us of your experience!
She is just as wonderful in person as she is on stage.. Very down to earth and a beautiful soul!
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOo... not the cascade!!! hahahahaha.. (peewee. you will get that one, next time I will buy her something better than Beer... and Cascade to be precise!) ha ha ha ha ha
There will also be a new section so that you can put a photo of yourself on the forum, so that when other fans go to gig, they can recognise others and meet, since no-one wants to meet up otherwise! hahahahaha.
Ok, Well a fantastic night it was.. a long drive back home, with the essential Maccas stop on the way home! Once home and my head hit the pillow, it was *goodnight* for many hours, until it was all time to wake up and do it all again for the 9th October - Tivoli concert.
Photos from this gig will come in the following post!
Cheers
