I have always been against animal cruelty and supported animal rights. I was also happy to hear Missy was too. I was just curious to know your Thoughts.

My thoughts are that the poll forum seems to be getting less threads with polls in them.
As for the actual subject, I can't help but smile when I saw this:

that website is awful! how cans omeone be so cruel, black mail is what they are doing. to get money they are willing to kill a bunny.
that sight cannot be for real! i'm fully in support of animal rights and have been known to boycott (no idea how to spell that!) products which test on animals...to be honest i think its really insulting even as a joke...its making a mockery of a really serious issue. PETA (people for the ethical treatment of animals ) is an awesome organisation! check them out!

Hmm I think she is a vegetarian.
Hey u know that add about animal cruelty.. u see poor little monkeys huddling together looking sad, a skinny elephant trying to walk up a hill trying not to fall over...
And the " I'll stand by you, I'll stand by you, wont let nobody hurt you, I'll stand by you"
Ah that is soooo sad.
It makes me cry.
Even when I hear the music now I well up!

oh cool i love convosations on this sort of stuff. I love reading what people have to say. Its odd to think that while we are all totaly against animal cruelty, there are people as we speak(or type) sending cows off to be made into peoples dinner, or making shoes out of an elephants tusks. I would love to meet someone like that and hear there point of view, because i personally cant think of an excuse for them. It makes me so angry sometimes. Yeah i too am a long time vego.

I eat meat. I'm quite ok for some big animal to eat me too. In fact, I fully plan on being food at some stage, whether it's some big panther pouncing on me, or ending up being feed for fish or grubs.
One thing that really pisses me off is when the authorities start up these massive hunts when a shark or something like that eats a person. These guys are just going for their lunch. You shouldn't end up dead because you went out for lunch.

i guess the difference is that human can choose what they eat. there is no need to eat meat and to kill animals! but animals can't choose. and they only kill when they are hungry and not for their pleasure!
We have just had loads of protests over here coz fox hunting was banned in England.(Was banned in Scotland a long time ago) All these pro hunt guys were protesting about the government sticking it's nose into rural affairs, the arguments were along the lines of "It's an infringement of civil rights" It will cost jobs" [/COLOR] and my personal favourite "foxhunting is pest control". Absolute lot of shit each one.
What about the fox's right to live in it's natural habitat without being ripped to pieces by a pack of dogs
Anyone who's employment relies on slaughtering an animal in this most horrific way after chasing it terrified through the countryside till it literally collapses with exhaustion really should look in the mirror and ask themselves if they couldn't find a better form of employment.
And as far as pest control!!! Forty fucking idiots in red jackets galloping through the countryside on horseback following a pack of hounds to catch one animal the size of a small dog, then once it has been torn apart, to cut it's tail off and smear it's blood on the face of the newest member of their gang as a right of passage, doesn't really sound like an effective way to protect the chicken coop to me.
I used to live in the country and I am aware that whether I like it or not sometimes some forms of pest control have to be used, but stuff like fox hunting, Badger baiting, Hare coursing etc are nothing but excuses for inherently cruel people to get their kicks by killing something that can't fight back.

u are kidding me right... u actually bothered to write this out?
what about termites... they dont keep eating out their environment.. then move on? nooooo wouldnt do that would they...
and when did i say you should be on ur knees for me? also humans are animals, not maybe they should be called animals.
also do you live in a house? hold on ur using a computer, ur using man made material, and for that ur an ultimate hypocrit, go out and live in the bush with no clothes if you are so strong in your beliefs. also if animals are so good, why are you a vegetarian, cause there are so many animals out there that eat meat, humans are not the only ones. sorry champ but ur kidding urself with crazed ideals

a termite!!!an animal????
Wow getting heated here, personally (and I do stress personally) I find hunting animals and wanton cruelty inexcusable. However I do accept that testing goes on and while I may not agree with it I can sort of understand it in terms of medical stuff (don't like it and don't agree but can understand it) cosmetic testing, sorry but I cannot find anything justifiable in that !!. I ate meat for many years and it was a decision not taken lightly to stop and go veggie, but I still wear leather shoes and eat dairy products and am fully aware how hyporitical that could seem to other people. The vast majority of my friends eat meat and I wouild not fall out witth them because of it .4evagypsy I assume from your posts you are vegan or strict veggie and I admire you for it, truly! But Swede is actually a nice guy from what I have seen from being on this forum, At the end of the day all anyone can do is follow their own consience. When we try and push our ideals and beliefs onto others and critcise those who don't agree then we tread a dangerous path. Really not meaning to be preachy here hope it hasn't come accross that way...

i personally really like this post. very cool, thankyou. also i dont agree with testing for cosmetics... and i personally agree with testing on animals for medical things. im currently testing on rats within neuropsychopharmacology... but yeh. i believe that each to their own in being a vegetarian and what not, but to say the human race is a disgrace (well actually... it just may be... but...) even still... i think that its goin a bit far.
also termites are an insect/ant whatever, still a part of the animal kingdom.
anyway, all i was trying to say is much as bri has said in the way of beliefs and i was merely stating my opinion on somethings.
also i enjoy a good debate...
anyway thats all i have to say for now

of course there are animals who eat meat. but there is a difference. they ony kill to survive, but humans kill for their own pleasure. they only kill because meast tastes good. we have got the choice to eat veggie stuff, animals who eat meat can't choose!

Sports hunting, sure. The kind of hunting people do to keep a subsistence living- that's just natural.

Bollocks. We're omnivores. We have developed canines. If meat was never part of the equation, all we'd have are incisors.
People going on hunting trips, those who see it as a game, yes, they do kill for their own pleasure. But just try and tell tribal hunter-gatherer communities that they kill for pleasure.

Yeah meant sports/trophy hunting not people who have to hunt to survive
