Spreading The Music Love

we have had threads such as my music thread, the jukebox, various threads about artists, but here is the start of a thread that can spread the music love further, where people can actually try out music that other forum members are into.

the idea is this, one member chooses an album, they put up a review of it and what not, and others get the album and say what they think of it. Ive seen this work on a pearl jam forum, and i think hinny's forum does something similar if im not mistaken also? but alas, i think its a great way to get into new music.

if you are really wanting to get into some new music, and are interested in the concept, pm me and ill explain more details within that. also, i think it can be a good way to listen to some music you generally may not, you may even start listening to some new style, or even just a single band that is different to the rest of your music collection.

so yeh, pm me or whatever.

i think this will be difficult. poor people like me download music and dont set foot in cd stores. i think it would be good to do this, only if its available, people should also put a link to a legal download of one of the songs off the album.

I saw the film today.

I used to enjoy Cameron Crowe's films. They've always been syrupy, but my soft sentimental half always dominated the snarky elitist half. Vanilla Sky was the beginning of end, and Elizabethtown was, well, shite. Not that he has a reputation for being creative as say, Spike Jonze, but that was a shocker. Formulaic, cliche-ridden, predictable. This should be the last time I pay full price at the box office for a Cameron Crowe movie. Sure the soundtrack is good, but it should never supercede the actual film.

Enjoyed it a lot, though it doesn't quite match up to The Soft Bulletin and Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots.

Now, if only I can get me a copy of Zaireeka, I'd die a happy man. Even a burnt copy would be good.

If you don't know about this, it's their last release before Soft Bulletin. A 4 disc set, with all 4 discs sharing the same number of tracks, with the same title and same time. The idea is you set up 4 cd players and play all 4 cds simultaneously.

Yeah, that's the one. Actually pretty easy to get online, but right now I'm not spending money on anything outside of Pearl Jam tickets and my travel kitty for attending those intercity shows.

I've got 3 cd players. If I can get my computer to play sound again, bang. Done. And it's not that you HAVE to play in simulatenously. The idea is you get a different experience each time you play the cd set, whether with a delay on one of them, or play just 2 or 3, and so on.
