Do you think Rove is funny?
personally i think he is not funny at all, he bores me and i can pick the end of this jokes almost every time.
he frustrates me to the ends of the earth, YET i still watch his show!
where is the logic?

i kinda agree and disagree!! i love the show, but i think i more love seeing the quests and music...he's a strange little man and i wouldnt go to his comedy show but i love the show!!! i also have to admit that i like the segment roving with rove!

I agree cornelia and heleria are crack ups !! but rove i find just stuffs up his jokes too much and by the times hes finished spitting and explaining it , it just aint funny anymore :o

But hes still cool to watch!! might like him a bit more when he gets missy on his show for a proper interview yep yep :D

Although I can see how some others wouldn't find him funny. He is an aquired taste. If someone who hadnt heard of him saw him they would prolly think he was nuts!

The other week he was throwing jelly beans in the air and catching them in his mouth and he had this big mouthful of jelly beans and was pulling all these funny faces, he had me rolling on the floor.. anyone remember that.. anyway.. funny funny.

Rove is crap, and his writers are crap. About once a year i'll happen to giggle at something he says or does, but mostly he just seems try hard. It's lucky he's got Corrinne on his show because she's about the only comedian going around at the moment who is MORE annoying than Rove. Pete used to be shithouse too, but he's been in fine form for about a year now...funny fellow.

okwell i voted "sometimes he is funny but not all the time" and i only ever watch when bored or if he has someone on the show im interested in seeing! Does anyone else agree some weeks he has a real shitty line up then the next week he can have about 2 or 3 big names! Seems silly! And makes for a very all over the place show! :)

i will say this, rove can be funny at times but he has a whole team of people writing jokes and gags for him. he got to wear he is by being a good comedian but just friggen lost the time or something cause all these people write his shit and i dunno, i just think he's phoney.

I think hes suffered from over exposure. The show needs a bit of a new format...the same old stuff every week is basically boring. That kind of show is good for about 2 seasons...then it gets lame. The jokes become more rehearsed...(and in my opinion peter helliar is funnier)
However...we do not have another show in the light entertainment industry to interview guests etc...andrew dentons interviews are far more enjoyable, but its not "light entertainment".... BRING BACK THE PANEL!!!! (love the d-generation/late show gang)

The Panel has become pretty boring in the last couple of years. Rob's snide comments just keep dragging the topic off track. Tom can't, or doesn't want to control Rob. Kate's always been a trainwreck, and Santo, everytime he opens his mouth, I nod off.

Franklin Ajaye, Jeff Stilson, Shaun Micalef, Mick Molloy, loved everytime those guys came on. Oughta give Chris Taylor a strong run, too, if the show does come back.

Having watched bits and pieces of his show tonight (I tend to watch it most weeks, but this time in light of this topic) I reckon he's pretty funny. And its important to note that he seems genuinely funny.

Often comedians resort to bad language, filthy topics, or bad jokes. I think its fair to say that whilst the latter may apply at times, being funny comes pretty naturally to Rove. Also, like how his character seems to be it's generally not malicious or in bad taste. Then of course, its the way he endears himself to the Australian public/media. But thats another topic...

i think rove can be naturally funny. but other times he tries to hard, or he kills the joke by going to far. he also yells too much, he's another Jerry Signfield (however u spell it) which is ironic considering he has him on the season finale. :confused:

I still think he should get missy on the show again, this time for a chat, or something fun.
