View Full Version : Plastic Surgery - Would You Consider It?
hi everyone, I was just wondering how many of you would ever consider cosmetic surgery. its important i get as many voters as possible because i have to make a speech on the topic for school and i'd like some evidence to back up my ideas. I made this thread two days ago but i think it got lost when the forum was out of action.
thanks!

The way i figure it, is that i wouldnt say NO NEVER! 'cause cosmetic surgery is used in operaterions if you screw yourself up real good, even if you were in a car accident, you would get it on your hand if it was real horrowshow.
ummm if i break my nose or something, ill get it. if i get disfigured i'll get it.
i dont see anything wrong with it, some people think solidly that plastic surgery shouldnt be had cause its not you, and afterwards it wouldnt be the real you. shit, people get kidneys transplanted, they arent their kidneys. if someone needs a blood transfusion odds are its not their blood.
some people may argue that it is addictive and a waste of cash. it's addictive for very few. and proceedures arent that cheap now not unless you want to trot off to some Dr. Nic surgery and get ur breasts filled with aeroplane jelly.
To sum up my muddled point - Cosmetic surgery is just another advancement in todays society it can be used for the good eg: returning someone who might have been disfigured by an accident or disease. people who live through tragic things eg: robbings or car accidents might not want to look in the mirror and be reminded of what might have happened to them everyday.
On a lighter note, it gives people self esteem. a lot of girls and guys are self conscious. if something litte, like bigger boobs for a chick or a bigger chin for a guy can make them feel better, i say do what you want.
Cosmetic surgery is just progressing, a select few take it way too far, but this could be beacause a surgeon stuffed up one surgery so they spend the next 10,000 trying to look better.
dunno, it CAN get out of hand. but thats hardley the normal case. and as for the person then being some what fake... well sure, their body is. but who gives a shit.
i dont disagree with it if it is for medical reasons. i'm talking about if people just get it cos they want to enhance their looks. my personal opinion is if you have low self esteem, plastic surgery wont help you in the long run.
Also, there can be disastrous effects of surgery. here is donatella versace, a prime example: http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y6/SimpsonsFan/donatellaversace.bmp

if it doesnt help someone in the long run, it still could help them in the short term outlook. heck some people have that much money they wouldnt bother worrying about it, they could do it out of bordum and it makes them feel better. pulling examples like that tragety is an extreme. look to the hollywood scene, the majority of those kids pump in and pump out stuff from their bodies and people dont look down on them, cause BraD PitT iS LYKe So HAwt

i probably wouldn't do it to improve my image, unless it were for medical reasons like returning me to normal after being involved in an accident of some sort. i do have issues with some parts of myself but i don't think that i would ever resort to plastic surgery. i am not saying those who get it are bad or whatever, it's just not for me.
good on ya lozzy! Would it be all right with you if i quoted you in my speech? that would be great. (PS: i bought harry potter today, re your sig)

Which one is the worst one? I cant tell.
I wouldn't get surgery unless I had been disfigured in an accident.
Forgive my brief answer, I'm not feeling too good, I have the flu.

I wouldn't. I believe that everyone is beautiful, some just don't seem to see it. But nobody's perfect, everybody has flaws, you just have to accept who you are, cos that's how God made ya. But I do agree with the others, I would get it if I was disfigured from an accident.

I might CONSIDER it if it wasn't so pricey, but i probably wouldn'tgo through with it cause of all the health risks and the risk of coming out of the surgery looking like Michael Jackson.
