I did a search and thought for sure there'd be a thread on Tristan, but i didn't find any. Anyways, her new album "T w e n t y T h r e e" came out today. She put out a dual disc too, but when I went to the stores theyweren't out yet - but the regular CD is. Anyways..I'm sure you've heard of her, right? She is awsome singer/songwriter from San Diego, CA ..gorgeous voice, great lyrics and I love her style on the guitar.

She's pretty cool, a surfer chick.. ehmm with freckles!, her melodies are nice... pretty average I guess but her voice has a soothing tone to it, I think it's beautiful and simple... hmm (I already said "pretty" enough). Sometimes her songs drag though, what I've heard it really makes you think she's got a lot to offer but its still developing. Of course I have no idea how her actual album sounds like! I live so far away from everything.. bahh. I heard about her a while ago now... I think I read a Matt Nathanson interview where he mentioned her... she's also Jason Mraz's "buddy" (they have this song... "Shy That Way", I think they only did it live, no idea), umm, hehe, it's kind of noticable by her guitar-playing, an influence in the style I guess.
I really really like: Evaporated, The Kiss, When it Rains.
hmm!! you've got to hear her cover of Britney Spear's Toxic. (the mp3 I have is Live at Canes, march '04). Tristan: "Gary was telling me he has this theory that... no matter how cool a girl thinks she is... that we always knows Britney songs"

omg seven!! i was totally gonna write the exact same thing lol....yeah she reminds me of jack johnson too, like the way she plays the chords on guitar and stuff, shes pretty cool.....

Where are you at now? What’s next for you?
I’m in New York right now, just doing a ton of press for this record. In a month I’m going to Australia, then New Zealand and then Japan. Hopefully I’ll get to go surfing. I fell in love with Australia when I got to go out there a couple years ago. I’m trying to get all my stuff done so I can get out to the beach!
this interview was at the end of August which means she should be hitting our shores soon. NOICEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! :D

Tristan Prettyman likes to call her music surfer rock, cause she is also a professional surfer. i fell in love with her a few months back and just now realized i could spread the love through this site. very acoustic, she's written all her songs. i really cant say enough about her so i'll let the music speak for itself. i would be more than happy to send anyone her music, unfortunately i dont have her album on my computer bc its copy written so it can only go onto my mp3 player, but im workin on gettin a non copywritten version of her album. besides that i have about 5 or 7 of her songs that i could send....ok ill shut up now....

She's cool, I've seen her a couple times. I wish I was that good on guitar. She can fingerpick really well. And she's no longer Mraz' "friend." =)

havent really got into tristy. saw a bit of her on vid hits the other day but havent heard much of her stuff.
Triz is cool, Yeah she's funny as, I saw her at her Sydney gig after bluesfest... sounded like she was having fun... but not liking being single tho... She asked if anyone had any requests and someone asked for her to sing "shy that way"... and well all I can say is... touchy subject... Hahahaha
