Serena Ryder - Australian Tour

Hey guys,

How many of you are lucky enough to get to see Serena on her Australian Tour this month?
I saw her at Byron Bay last night, tonight at the Gold Coast, then sat and sun in Brisbane!

I will give you a bit better review later! Im at work :(

Last night was great! The Sound Lounge - Gold Coast

First time Serena performed with a band!

Renny Fields and Hawksley Workman supporting!

Serena on Acoustic and Electric guitar
She had Hawksley Workman on Bass
and the drummer from The Whitmans

Great Combination! It was an awesome show last night, with Serena in high spirits after finally catching up on some sleep! Wonderful set and the crowd responded accordingly!

I heard lots of comments about it from others around me - one who even came up to Serena and I and interupted by saying that he had heard that she had supported Missy Higgins! However he couldnt even get Missy's name out properly! Both Serena and I corrected him and he went on to say that Serena would have shown Missy up big time and that Missy would have been afraid to step out on stage after Serena! Serena was speechless and didnt really know what to say! So she smiled and giggled and said "thankyou".

Hahahahaha - all in all a great gig! Tonight and tomorrow night is the Troubadour in Brisbane. Cant wait as thats my home turf!

i'm still at uni, voluntary stuff at the moment, but it's a good platform for what i will be doing.
i don't think i could make it still. don't finish till 8pm and then i would have to get to syd... :(
i would go to the bulli one but it's the same night as swedes.

but I went to buy tix to the Vanguard gig BUT thats on the Sat, NOT Fri and the Fri gig is at the Brass Monkey... so anyone who was thinking of going BEWARE.

I cant go to the Vangaurd on the Sat cuz I'm gonna be at Missy's gig and I dont think I can go to the Friday gig cuz its miles from where I live and I cant get there cuz I dont drive and it'll finish too late to get the train and its too far for a cab. Bugger! I live right by the Vangaurd tho so that gig would have been fine :(

I saw her at the Gympie music Muster and she was great. She has a fantastic stage presence. Does anyone know the name of the bassist that played with her at the Muster because he was completely awesome and i wanna find more out about him...

Oh my!!! How good is Serena Ryder! I saw her at Sandalford Winery in WA on Sunday and she was just amazing! I've never heard someone with such a strong and cool voice. Mark Sholtez and Lior were also there supporting Missy and they were good but not as good as her!
