i got a mini last year sometime, had to return it the day after in replace for a new one because it wouldn't work properly.. and the new ones battery doesn't last long at all, but that's probably the same for all of them. .. other than that.. there are better mp3 players out there.. but i've grown to like it.

i am on my 3rd ipod.
had a 2nd generation 20G...sold it...got a 3rd generation 15G....sold it.....got a 1st generation 4G mini....now i want a 60G colour :)
shuffles are crap.

Until Apple introduces a version with a half decent recording function that's capable of capturing live music, I'm just not interested.
In any case, I'm old school. I need something to hold on to. A record, cassette, a cd, a minidisc.... whatever. Holding a chip just doesn't have that same feeling.

i want one, although i recon their battery arrangement is a bit stoogy.. i.e. they have an inbuilt weird battery and once it wears out the only way to fix it is to pay $200 for apple to install a new one. but 200 u may as well buy a new one... cmon mofos it aint that hard to have a removable replaceable battery like a phone...

I have a 20GB iPod. Have only used 5.8GB's so far.
Thats 1593 songs.
I don't download any music at all.. I buy the Cd's then put them on the ipod and never pick up the CD's again.. seems like abit of a waste.
But I love my ipod!
Havent had any trouble with it.

my dad replaced his battery for $9. he bought one off ebay and did it himself. it was easy.

I bought a mini iPod because it was on sale and I thought it'd be good for when I go walking. *Shrugs* I ended up giving it to my brother, because I just didn't use it.
I got the 4th Gen 20 gig got about 4700 tracks on it just now, got the Istation speakers/docking thing for it now superb for holidays like taking my hifi and entire collection wherever I go love it. :D

I have a 40 gig (4th generation i think) I love it so much I use it all the time hehe!!! So u think the speakers are woth getting I've been thiniking about it. Got the Itrip which is a pain in the arese in the car and wanna get the other fm transmiter with the buttons.so much easier.

I have the 40gb older version one, they dont make mine anymore, so its special to me hehe, i've had about 1.5 years now, and its still going strong, will prolly update to the 60gb photo one when this has been laid to rest

i gots a little pink mini. only one prob with the first one i got...battery was crap as. only lasted like 4 hours. BUT...got thats fixed under warranty...ended up getting a new one and i havent had a single problem with it.

This is how this consumerism thing works. They release one, then a slightly better model, then a slightly different model, and design each one so that it will break easily, and it costs less to get a new one than to get an old one fixed. So you get a new one. And then another one. And then another one.

oh my god. i knew they were popular but like more people have one than not. i have one. and now i am SO FASHIONABLE!
its blue and mini and i can even take it jogging! its the height of fashion and can even be worn as a neck accessory with a cool lanyard!...yuck. i just like it cos its full of songs. and cheap. and small....ooooh so small i could fit it..... in my pocket. :)

Ive got a 20 gig Creative Zen - its great! My best friend - well it was until it decided that i was using it too much and that it would hide the chord so that I could recharge the battery :( So it sits at home unable to be used intil I can find the chord :(

oh and the smh article wasn't just about the nano.... the have introduced an ipod mobile phone...
Apple Computer boss Steve Jobs has introduced a long-anticipated music-playing mobile phone and surprised the faithful with a new pencil-thin iPod.
The phone, called the ROKR and made by Motorola, will come loaded with iTunes software, store up to 100 songs and include a colour display screen and a built-in camera.
The ROKR, Apple's first foray into the mobile telephony market, will include built-in dual-stereo speakers as well as stereo headphones that also serve as a mobile headset.
Motorola will release the ROKR in Australia on September 15, although it is not clear how much the phone will cost or which mobile phone services will be available.
Users will not be able to load the phone with music files over mobile networks. They must transfer songs from their computers. That contrasts with popular over-the-air music purchases available in such countries as Japan.

they are pretty nice hey... i read about them a while ago when they were first released in the states... i kinda want one, but think i'll wait until they make bigger memory sticks... 1 gig just isnt enough to be considered a viable mp3 player.
