Hey i was just wondering if anyone on here had their tongue pierced?? i am thinking about getting it done but freaking about the pain element!! If you have got it done let me know your thoughts on the pain factor

haven't got it done but my friend has... apparantly it's one of the least painful places you can get pierced....... the only bad thing is, when they clamp your tongue (and pull it out) you drool all down your neck (throat).

I've heard that it is extremely painful and if you hit any of the nerves in your tongue it can be very dangerous because your tongue will swell, or theres a chance you wont ever be able to taste again..but they look fun to play with lol

Yeh i've got my tongue stabbed.

you tongue is a muscle.. its the same deal when u get a needle in ur arm.. dont tense up and it wont hurt.

if you hit a nerve anywhere its dangerous.

its going to swell anyway because you just stabbed a hole through it and it will try and heal itself. too bad theirs a bar of metal their to stop it.

in my case, i ate a meal before i got it dont. ate a bit after wards... then my tongue swelled up. for like 3 or 4 days. potato and gravy was killer.

first night is the worst.
but its all great form then on.

u are advised to reframe from giving oral sex for 14 days. i didnt and im still alive.
and so is she.

pros about piercing ur tongue.. its something to fiddle with.
it doesnt get itchy.
if you end up hating it, take it out, and the hole will be gone. tongues are incrediably good at healing.
u can conseal it resonable well.
.. probably more ;)

ur tongue hurts for a bit.
u risk cracking teeth from biting the balls.
u can swallow parts of the bar, proving costly.

Ok - I thought I should have my say on this topic! Ive got 16 peircings, so i imagine that if you are wanting to get something peirced ive got it done!

As for tongue - I have mine peirced twice! WELL worth it! It was my 2nd least painful peircing! It didnt hurt and it was really cool! You get to eat icecream after! Make sure you eat before you get it done! I tried to eat Hungry Jacks afterwards and it DIDNT work! Its funny trying to learn how to talk and eat again! Within a few days mine was healed and good! Try not to play with it - i know its fun at first! Dont get it too close to the front or u will damage ur teeth - if u play with it then you will prob damage ur teeth! A safer option is getting plastic balls on your bar!

I know ive always had metal, and my teeth are fine! Pain wise - you will be pleasantly relieved how little it actually hurts! Biting your tongue hurts more!

Belly Button - This was my 1st and least painful peircing - infact I didnt feel it at all - it was all over and i was waiting to feel the needle. You can get numbing patches (I didnt) - but if you are scared of the pain - thats the way to go! Just try not to wear pants that the waist line is the same as your bellybutton - cos it gets caught and may hurt :) Other than that, its the least painful peircing and on the right body, looks great! I used to have the body for it, not anymore... Ive still got it done tho!

Smart Arse! Use your mouthwash! EVERY night until it clears up! Put the original piercing fishwire back in and leave it there till it all heals properly! If it gets too sore and infected, take it out!

Otherwise, keep using your mouthwash! Use your mouthwash at LEAST 3 times per day :)

I got my tongue done when i was 18 - so thats 3 years ago! I didnt have any problems with it!

I wanted it when i was 17 but my parents told me about all the bad things that could happen with it - they said that they couldnt stop me from getting it done - but they would be dissapointed. My dad died that year - so I decided to wait till I was 18 - as per his wishes!

Then I got it done! I never had any problems with it!

I got the 2nd one in my tongue about 1 year ago (i think) - I had some problems with it to start off with because the bar was too long and it was rubbing on the underneath of my tongue - i went and got a smaller bar and it cleared up - i just had like a blister under my tongue - but it went away in a few days after i got a smaller bar!

Ive never heard of any probs with a tongue. The tongue has so much saliva passing over it etc in your mouth that it heals so quickly! Its great!

yeh my friend jonna is pierced and tattoo'd to completion. she got both her nipples pierced when she was working at a tat shop..
she couldnt hack the pain after and said it was totally painful when she got it done.

Well - put it this way - I went there and got my lip done today and its the same as the place I went to that costs alot more! This place is good and not dodgy! They just dont charge u for the labour of the piercer! Its in a shop that sells other stuff - so its good!

I have always paid heaps! I paid $110 for my tongue! And $90 for the 2nd one.

This place is great and the piercer is really nice too!!!! :)

take a step back, in my case i paid 35 dollars for a piece of sergical steal to be shoved through my tongue after a needle.

the needle is thrown out after. the tools are put into a stealizing machine which they explain to you.

the jewelery i buy is the same as what goes into ur body, whether it be the end of a needle or a metal plate that goes into ur skull.

in the past, i had been steered away from nickle based materials in my body, i checked before i went in to this and 2% of the metal in my tounge is nickle.
they were nice enough to tell me that. lol

really, i did get what i paid for. i paid the right price. the rest who pay 50++ think how much you are paying for peace of mind...

Anyway... she did it with a gun (which I learnt later isn't a good idea). She tried once, and it only went in half way. It hurt so much I got up and said "It's ok, I don't really want it done anyway!!!".

She was like noooo sit down I am going to finish it (at this time I had blood pouring out my nose and mouth) Soooo she got my boyfriend in to hold my head, probably thought he could control me or something! and took the nose ring out and did it again!!

I was like ahhhhhhhhh, I wanted to kill her and everyone I saw for the next eight hours cause it throbbed liked nothing else and bled like I had just cut my whole nose off!!

So overall, still have it pierced, but woudn't do it again! Well thats just probably put a few people off having their nose pierced (my mum would be proud). :D

I had something similar - well not really!

I had my eyebrow pierced - When the guy was doing it, he put the needle through and realised that he used a smaller needle than he had planned, therefore the jewellery was too big for the whole. Instead of him taking it out and using a bigger needle, he just forced the jewellery through instead and it took about 5 mins to get it through. It was VERY painful! Not happy!

I just thought I would keep you updated on my newest piercing!

The day after I got it done I woke up to a swollen lip! I was like - eeek - it doesnt hurt - but i looked stupid! Anyway.. if thats not bad enough - this morning i wake up and its even bigger! Its HUGE!
Im sitting here at work with a HUGE fat lip and finding it hard to talk properly - my job is on the phones - so its really hard for customers to understand me - eeeek!

Im just hoping that the swelling goes down as I have had an icy pole stuck on my lip and a can of pepsi max - I look stupid! ha ha ha ha

I can't eat cos it is so fat!! my throat is actually really sore too, but the chick said that is normal cos it was yanked out etc so would be for a bit. I had my ears pearced ages ago, and my ears were glowing for a week.

Then I had a lump in one after some years and got infected etc so I let them close. Still have issues every now and then... I think about getting them pierced again, but I can't bear the thought of being out in public with my glowing ears, especially now I'm older.
