I'm a forum member for the Swarm (old EMI forum for EMI artists... i visit kasey chambers in particular) and every year there is usually some kind of message or card with a whole heap of messages sent to Kasey either through her mother who does her merchandising or to her PO Box..

Im sure that Missy would love it and its something that she can look at and see how much her fans really appreciate her!

If we want to get it to her in time for Christmas, then we would need to make a cut off date, say.... 17th December 2004. Any letters/parcels recieved by 17th December will be put in a big box and all sent to Missy as one big present on Friday 17th December 2004!

So far I think we've got letters from all of us... I know a place where they can be bound in leather which looks really great!!!

one other way of doing it is to have a thread specifically with letters to missy with a cut off date then print it out

First of all, sounds like an awesome idea, nice work Psycho.

Secondly, I dig what you're saying Jake, but I think Psycho's leather bound idea thing sounded pretty sweet, ultimately though I guess it's up to Shenelle, either way it should be great.

Now, if you want to promote the website, what's to stop you from making some sort of merchandise to send to Missy? Like screenprinting the logo on a t-shirt, with members names on the back (sorta like tour dates) or even making some sort of plaque with all the names of the members to date? That way it could be extending a gift to Missy, while plugging the site and the fans. You could set up a Paypal account or something of the like and I'd have no worries making some sort of donation to cover the costs, and I'm sure others would as well. Like they may be cheesy ideas, but you get where I'm going with it.

But anyway, that's just a few ideas, but I'll be down for this letter-writing business for sure.

All great suggestions, in particular I like the t-shirt idea. That would give members something to identify each other by at gigs, festivals, gatherings etc. Or maybe a cap or a button (badge) with the logo. Now that you've brought that up, I'd like to invite anyone with some creative flair to come up with a better logo that befits our little fandom. My poor excuse for a logo was whipped up in five minutes simply because I needed something. I'll start up a separate thread for it.

I guess we need some guidelines on what you all can contribute huh...

How about for the letters we all use A6 sized paper (that's half an A4 sheet) and limit the letters to 2 pages. I think that size would post better, be cheaper to bind and look better.

Was also wondering if maybe we should all use matching paper.. which would mean everyone who was writing to her would need to submit an address so we could post you out the blank paper... I am still not sure if that's necessary though, as long as the paper we all use is the same size.

The only other thing that has been suggested is gig photos of the forum members supporting her... I am pretty sure we can manage that when the time comes.
