Time to frock up! This year's ARIA Awards will be sashaying into the Sydney Superdome on Sunday, October 23. Nominations will be announced on September 14, with tickets to the event on sale five days later. Rove McManus has stated he won't be hosting the awards this year, with no replacement announced yet.

Once again, the Channel [V] Oz Artist of the Year Award will take pride of place in the ceremony as the only publicly voted statue to be given - and we're cooking up something special. Voting for Oz Artist commences this Thursday Sept 8 and in a first, viewers will be able to vote using the Foxtel Digital red button application plus SMS and via this here site. Last year, Guy Sebastian won the coveted award. Stay tuned for more info!

THE ARIAs are officially official for 2005 - and we're warning you now, get set for Missy Higgins overload.

As we perused the voting lists this week, we couldn't help but notice that one name kept recurring.

Actually, if we're being honest, two names kept popping up - but we'd love to see Mr Ben Lee pick up a long-overdue swag of pointy gongs.

But the Higgins-a-rama is all but assured. We'll put dibs on her nabbing at least five noms, and she's a shoe-in for best female.

So, the dates to lock in? Well, voting closes tomorrow, and nominees are announced on September 14, with the artisan awards presented at the same ceremony.

Tickets go on sale to the general public on September 19 (but remember, the ARIAs are in Sydney every year), the Fine Arts awards are given out on October 11, then the big one is Sunday, October 23.
