I'll shamessly copy-paste an adequate description:

"The Ditty Bops are a band out of Los Angeles, California that play an original blend of jazz, swing music, ragtime and musical theater. They are headed by Abby DeWald (vocals and acoustic guitar) and Amanda Barrett (vocals, mandolin and dulcimer)...."

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

With that settled, I wanted to share their music with all of you board members and music connoisseurs... (hmm). I ran into their video "Wishful Thinking" on Yahoo! Music some months ago, it caught me by surprise because it seems simple-minded, silly, yet it is an unique (I'd say) blend of styles, uncommon styles at that. All their other songs are also great (pardon the silly use of adjetives and the general dumbish review, I'm sleepy and... also, I speak spanish... excuses).

Anyway, check them out, here's their page: The Ditty Bops (http://www.thedittybops.com). They have all their cd there and also some good videos of live performances, they certainly put up a show...! Check specially "Sister Kate", it's a cover, I'll recommend more songs but I can't choose. They were also on KCRW: Morning Becomes Eclectic (October 26, 2004) (http://kcrw.com/smil/mb041026The_Ditty_Bops.ram).

Remember how Nic Harcourt (Morning Becomes Eclectic host) told Missy she has a future on musical theater? It was based on something else perhaps but... still I think there's a Ditty-Bop-like style there somewhere in Missy... fun, I think, something else to look forward to perhaps? honky-tonk... ragtime Missy!
